With winter making a come back, finding indoor activities that are both entertaining and educational can be a challenge. But fear not, because I've discovered the perfect winter win that will entertain both kids and adults:
Frozen Bubble Fun!
With just a few simple ingredients (you probably already have at home), you can turn a snowy day into an educational experiment.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water
- 2.5 tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2.5 tablespoons dish soap
- Straws
- Bowl with a lid
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of warm water, 2.5 tablespoons of corn syrup, and 2 tablespoons of sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Gently stir in 2.5 tablespoons of dish soap until well combined. Be careful not to create too many bubbles.
- Set the bowl outside or in the freezer for 30 minutes to get cold, but don't completely freeze it.
Making Frozen Bubbles:
- Dip the end of a straw into the bubble solution and blow gently to create a bubble on the end of the straw.
- Carefully release the bubble onto a cold surface, such as a snow-covered table or the ground. Watch as the bubble begins to freeze and transform into a delicate ice sculpture.
- Experiment with different bubble sizes and shapes to see the unique patterns that form as they freeze.
